Once here you will need to get your Oregon License and car registration (if you are moving from out of state) – the DMV here in Bend is pretty easy to navigate – best days to visit are Wednesdays as they have extended hours and the worst are Mondays (of course) and any pay day (1st, 15th, 30th/31st of each month).
If your vehicle is owned free and clear you only need to complete the registration form found here: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/Forms/DMV/226fill.pdf and follow these instructions: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/docs/trooshavetitle.pdf
If your vehicle has a loan on it, you’ll need to complete the above form – link again – https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/Forms/DMV/226fill.pdf then send it to the lien holder along with this: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/docs/trlien.pdf
To get your license – all the information is here: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/pages/driverid/licenseget.aspx You’ll also need to pass a written driving test, maybe have your car smog checked, and most importantly have your vehicle with you at the DMV – don’t plan on walking there!
They are not issuing the new ID cards until January 2020, by which time you read this it could be 2021 so you’re good to go!
